Nasi Liwet Bu Wongso Lemu
A traditional Solo dish, nasi liwet (rice cooked in coconut milk, chicken broth and spices) is easily obtainable across the city. One nasi liwet food stall that you must try is Nasi Liwet Bu Wongso Lemu. I’m sure that you will go gaga over its delicious and velvety nasi liwet from the first bite.

Jl. Teuku Umar, Solo, Central Java

Tengkleng Klewer Bu Edi
The iga kambing (mutton ribs) on offer at Tengkleng Klewer Bu Edi is served with a refreshing, savory sauce. The meat is tender and fragrant and might just be the finest I’ve ever tried – especially since I’m not too much of a fan of mutton due to its strong odor.

Lapangan Parkir Masjid Agung Surakarta, Jl. Masjid Agung, Solo, Central Java
Open daily from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Soto Triwindhu
Soto Triwindhu is where you can find one of the best soto daging sapi (beef soup) in the country. Its translucent broth enhances the flavor of the silky smooth beef, making for a satisfying experience for your taste buds. One important note: make sure you come early before this signature dish runs out.

Bakmi Jawa Pak H. Dul
his roadside warung has been spoiling the people of Solo with its various tasty delights for 40 years now. Bakmi Jawa Pak H. Dul apparently is a favorite of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo for noodles. The must-try dishes here are its mie godog (boiled noodles) and mie goreng (fried noodles).

Timlo Sastro
You may have heard of Timlo Sastro before. The pride and joy of the city, its tantalizing and refreshing creations ensure that this shop is always crowded with customers. Founded in 1952, it now has a branch at Jl. Dr. Wahidin No. 5 that opens for longer than its flagship joint in Pasar Gede.
